Texas A&M University in Qatar once again sent its students to Qatar Aluminum.

Texas A&M University in Qatar once again sent its students to Qatar Aluminum for an industrial visit on 11th December, 2018. The group visiting this time consisted of 6 male students from Mechanical Engineering program.

The students arrived Qatalum Gate 1 at 8:30 AM, from where they were taken to the training centre for introduction to the organization and welcome speech. This was followed by presentation on Reduction. At 11:00 hours, they were taken for Reduction plant walk. The tour concluded with a lunch and a short debriefing session at 13:30 hours.

Qatalum employees who attended this group included Mr. AbdulHalim Al-Bader - Qatarization & Development Manager, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mannai – Head of Qatarization & Development, Mr. Magdi Hamed – Qatarization & Development Supervisor, Mr. Edward Wyk - Qatarization & Development Supervisor and Mr. Mohammed Sowayed – GDP in Reduction.

The Qatarization & Development team extended their gratitude to Reduction group, and all individuals who participated directly or indirectly in making this visit a successful.

The benefits of the universities and industry linkage are wide reaching. Mr. AbdulHalim, Qatarization and Development Manager, reiterated the importance of such collaboration between industry and universities. He said "This collaboration between universities and Aluminium industry have a positive influence on both sides"

 Mr. Hamed Qatarization & Development Supervisor added that the collaboration between industry and universities is critical for skills development and serve to attract talented Qatar national students to join Qatalum.
