The students arrived Qatalum Gate 1 at 8:30 AM, from where they were taken to the training centre for introduction to the organization and welcome speech. This was followed by presentations on Casthouse and Reduction. At 11:00 hours, they were taken on bus tour to Casthouse and Reduction. The tour concluded with a lunch and a short debriefing session at 13:30 hours.
Qatalum employees who attending this group included Mr. AbdulHalim Al-Bader - Qatarization & Development Manager, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mannai – Head of Qatarization & Development, Mr. Magdi Hamed – Qatarization & Development Supervisor, Mr. Mamertus Eledi – Qatarization & Development Supervisor, Mr. Edward Wyk - Qatarization & Development Supervisor and Mr. Mohammed Sowayed – GDP in Reduction.
The Qatarization & Development team extended their gratitude to Reduction group, Casthouse group, and all individuals who participated directly or indirectly in making this visit a successful.
The benefits of the universities and industry linkage are wide reaching. Mr. AbdulHalim, Qatarization and Development Manager, reiterated the importance of such collaboration between industry and universities. He said that it is critical for skills development and serve to attract talented Qatar national students to join Qatalum.
