This year's five-day event aimed to provide education, recruitment, and training and development information for students and young Qatari nationals in order to enhance their abilities and strengthen their skills. At Qatalum, a detailed road map and outreach programme has been created by the Qatarisation department, enabling a potential candidate to embark on a progressive career within the company.
Speaking on the occasion, Qatalum CEO Tom Petter Johansen, said, "Qatalum's participation in the 5th annual Career Fair is part of our strategy to expose and attract Qatari nationals in to an alternative career path than that of the traditional hydrocarbon route taken by many in Qatar. The aluminium industry holds an exciting future in Qatar with favourable possibilities for promising careers as witnessed in similar GCC states."
In line with Qatalum’s solid Qatarisation plan, our focus at the Fair will be on attracting talented, motivated and qualified Qatari job-seekers and offer them job opportunities in senior technical and administrative positions, which will allow Qatalum to continue to play its role in ensuring Qatar’s long-term economic growth and securing its position on the global economic map,” Johansen added.
The Qatar Career Fair 2012 was very well attended and featured pavilions and stalls of more than 150 national, international, regional and local firms operating in the State of Qatar.
