Qatalum Wins TOP award for innovation in IT, the ceremony held in Ritz Carlton Dubai on 29th January 2017, Qatalum’s ISIT Manager Mr. Abdulsalam Al Yafei received the award for implementing innovative technologies and strategies to accelerate business growth.
The prestigious award honors TOP CIOs from the region.
Under the vision and leadership of Mr. Abdulsalam Al Yafei, ISIT infrastructure team designed and started implementing virtualization technologies to host the applications and systems for the whole plant.
Initiated in 2016, the greenfield project kicked off with Business continuity, performance and cost efficiency as primary objectives. The innovative design of the Virtualization platform, reliable infrastructure and secure interoperability of the complex integrated networks were achieved by internal ISIT resources without any external help or support. Based on technologies including HP blades, EMC Storage and VMware, the solution is implemented for Reduction Systems and is expected to be deployed for all other areas by end of 2017.
