Mr. Al-Buenain holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University – U.S.A. and has 24 years of experience in different leadership roles in Oil and Gas, Ports & Construction industries. Prior to joining Qatalum, he was working with Qatar Petroleum as Senior Advisor to QP President & CEO. He started his career as Mechanical Engineer in QP- Dukhan ARAB "D" Gas Recycled Project. During his career he was involved in Ras Laffan Port Expansion Projects which includes water dredging, reclamation & Construction, FEED for berths and port infrastructure, largest common cooling seat water system, repair and construction of vessels. He also headed the port project management committee that was responsible for Greenfield project (new Hamad Port, Naval Base and Economic Canal). He was the VP - HSE and Business Services (IT, General Services and Medical) in Qatar Petroleum.
Mr. Al-Buenain has also worked as Chief Executive Officer of Qatari Diar. He is currently the BoD Vice Chairman of Qatari Diar and also a Board member of BARWA.
