Ahmed Abdulqader Al-Ahmed assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Qatalum in February 2026. He brings more than three decades of diversified leadership experience across the energy and industrial sectors, with expertise spanning upstream and downstream operations, strategic planning, project management, governance frameworks, and operational excellence.

Prior to joining Qatalum, Al-Ahmed served as Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC) since November 2020, where he led strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening operational performance, reinforcing governance practices, and supporting sustainable business growth.

Al-Ahmed began his career with QatarEnergy in 1992 and has since held a number of senior leadership roles across several business units within the organisation and its subsidiaries. His professional experience includes key positions at Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd. and Qatar Petroleum International, where he contributed to the development and management of international upstream portfolios and strategic energy projects.

Through his extensive experience across the energy value chain, Al-Ahmed has played an important role in advancing strategic initiatives and operational performance within the organisations he has served. He currently serves as a director on several boards across energy sector.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering (with Honours) from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.
