Qatar University has signed an agreement with Hydro and Qatar Aluminium Company (Qatalum) to establish a faculty chair of aluminium production at the university's College of Engineering.
The King of Norway has appointed Zafer S. Nahawi to commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for outstanding service in the interest of Norwegian industry in the Middle-East. Nahawi has been Hydro’s local representative in Qatar and the Middle-East since 1991, and serves on the Board of Qatalum.
