Qatalum has pledged support for Qatar National Cancer Society, as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy. Mr. Ibrahim J. Fakhri and Mr. Khalifa Al Khuzaei from Qatalum’s Public Relations Department handed over the donation cheque to Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Abdul Jabar, Board Member of Qatar National Cancer Society.


Mr. Ibrahim J. Fakhri, Public Relations Manager of Qatalum, said: “As a Qatari company interested in public welfare activities and in offering assistance to various social organizations in Qatar, such as the Qatar National Cancer Society, we hope our contribution will help to fight this disease and support the QNCS’s prevention and recovery efforts.
“Offering support to Qatari society in which we operate is one of Qatalum’s top priorities. Our corporate social responsibility program includes financial support to various organizations, in addition to awareness programs on several issues with the aim of contributing to a better future for the younger generations”, Fakhri added.
Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Abdul Jabar said: “Qatalum’s support to QNCS reflects this important Company’s commitment to social responsibility. This donation will be used to help some patients receive treatments. The QNCS is ready to cooperate with Qatalum in organizing awareness activities and programs to spread public awareness on methods of prevention from this disease”.
Abdul Jabar said the QNCS is committed to supporting cancer patients in Qatar, saying: “All employees and volunteers at the Society are ready to exert continual efforts and serve Qatari society through awareness programs and provision of care for treatment of patients. The QNCS is a humanitarian organization that is from and for the people. Your contribution in supporting this society through membership, voluntary work, providing time for cancer patients, donations, or any form of support will help other citizens who are in grave need of financial and emotional support”.
“The Society has many volunteers who are keen to spread awareness of the disease, methods of prevention and importance of early detection. We are proud of our volunteers who adopted QNCS’s message and founded the cancer survivors group to support patients, particularly the women. Our aim now is to establish a male survivors group” he added.
