Tom Petter Johansen

CEO of Qatalum
 
Tom Petter Johansen (53) has been with Hydro since 1985, holding a number of management positions, including sector president of Hydro Magnesium and of Hydro Automotive Structures North Europe. He has also been plant manager at Høyanger primary aluminium and at Årdal primary aluminium plants in Norway.

Khalid Mohammed Laram
Deputy CEO

Khalid Laram holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California, USA. In 1985 he joined Qatar Petroleum, where he has held various responsibilities over the past 25 years including from 1995 to 1997, position of Head of Onshore Projects.
 
With a quarter of a century’s experience in major project management in the oil and gas industry, Laram’s expertise covers everything from feasibility studies, to design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start up, including operations. Notable projects in which he has been involved include the North Field development of QatarGas LNG trains 1 and 2, the NGL-4 Project as Project Manager and phases 1 and 2 of the Al-Khaleej Gas Project.

Preben Bruun Nyzell

CFO

Preben Bruun-Nyzell (40) took over the position of Chief Financial Officer from Olaf Meissner, starting August 1, 2011. Preben, Danish national, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lancaster University in the UK and Universita Bocconi in Milan, Italy and has lived outside of Denmark for more than 20 years.

Prior to joining Qatalum, he held senior positions with Emirates Aluminium Company (EMAL) in Abu Dhabi, Arqaam Capital in Dubai and PricewaterhouseCoopers in London.

Jan Peterlic

Chief Operations Officer

Formerly, Improvement Manager in Primary Metal Performance Management and Aluminium Metal Production System at Hydro, Jan Peterlic joined Qatalum as the QPS (Qatalum Production System) manager in July 2010.

However, with his previous background in reduction Jan was tasked with heading the team to restart the potlines as mandated after the August 9th shutdown. He assumed his QPS managerial position in May 2011.

Jan Peterlic is now Group Manager titled Chief Operations Officer and will be responsible for the Reduction, Casthouse and Carbon Groups.

Henrik M. Inadomi

Legal Affairs Manager
 
 
Henrik Inadomi (36) has been the Legal Affairs Manager of Qatalum since July 2010 to date. His previous position was Legal Counsel in Norsk Hydro ASA, Norway, from 2005 to June 2010. From 2001 to 2005 he worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo, where he attained his PhD Degree in Law.
 
Henrik has published academic articles mainly on energy law, and the book based on his PhD thesis is titled 'Independent Power Projects in Developing Countries'. He also hold an LLM in International Economic and Business Law from Kyushu University in Japan.
 

Ahmed Salem Ahmed Al-Kuwari

HR and Administration Manager
 
Ahmed Salem Ahmed Al-Kuwari (49) is Qatari and holds a BSc degree in Political Science. He started his career with Qatar Petroleum in 1988 in the Human Resources department. He took over the position as assistant HR manager for manpower planning and recruitment in 1996. In 2002 he joined QAFAC, and has worked for the last five years as administration manager for the company.
 

Steve Davison

Power Plant Manager
 
Steve Davison (43) is English and holds a diploma in marine engineering. He worked offshore in the North Sea for 10 years before joining the power plant business in 1992 with Alstom Power.
 
In 1997 he was appointed production manager for the operations and maintenance of an 800 MW combined-cycle power plant in Malaysia. During the last two years he has worked as station manager for CS Energy in Australia, responsible for a 325 MW combined-cycle power plant in Queensland.
 
Kurt Jan Nilsson

HSE/QPS and Quality Group Manager

Kurt Jan Nilsson, former Technical Group Manager has moved to become the HSE/QPS and Quality Group Manager, a newly created position within the Qatalum’s organisation structure. His role will manage the three divisions of HSE, Quality and QPS.

 
Kurt has gained wide experience of the oil and gas and aluminium business in Hydro and was general manager of the Høyanger metal plant from 1993, and before joining Qatalum, he had worked as head of the centre for training, leadership and work processes in Bergen, Norway.

Yahya Al Rashdan

Supply Chain Group Manager
 
Yahya Al Rashdan has been with QP since 1976 and was involved in some of the initial agreements of the Qatalum Project since 2005.

On September 1st, 2008 Yahya joined Qatalum as Marketing and Sales Manager. As of November 1, 2011, Yahya became Supply Chain Group Manager at Qatalum and heads the departments of Sales, Logistics and Raw Material Supply.
